Yhá Mourhia Wright is a 2025 NAACP Image Awards-Nominated Producer originally from San José, CA. In May 2016, she graduated with her MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. Upon graduation, she founded her production company, YháWright Productions, and developed the company’s first original series, #LoveMyRoomie, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. During her previous time as the Senior Video Producer for MadameNoire, she simultaneously produced three short-form digital shows: Listen to Black Women: Take to the Streets, In This Room, and Healthy Her.
Yhá Mourhia has had the pleasure to interview beloved talent such as Fantasia Barrino, Kim Fields, Robin Givens, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Ester Dean, and Emil Wilbekin. In 2019, Yhá Mourhia became a published author in the anthology, Purpose to Passion: A Journey to Self-Care in which she shares her journey to recovering from sexual assault and alchemizing her pain into a testimony. She served as the Programs Director for the Black TV & Film Collective from 2021-2023. During her time with BTFC she had the honor of securing partnerships with Netflix, Aspire TV, Urbanworld Film Festival, and Delta Airlines.
In the same year, Yhá Mourhia co-founded SoulCanvas, a community dedicated to embracing and cultivating the distinctive essence of every creative individual. Through thoughtfully curated workshops, engaging conversations, and interactive experiences, SoulCanvas provides creatives with the ideal space to delve wholeheartedly into the boundless realms of self-expression and artistic exploration. Along with co-founder Tamika Jamison, Yhá Mourhia hosted the inaugural SoulCanvas event on March 30, 2024, at Emerson College Los Angeles.
She and her team at the CBS Studios’ CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge won the Silver Award in the Employee Learning & Development Initiative category at the 2024 Anthem Awards.
Yhá Mourhia is also one of the producers of the award-winning short film Chocolate with Sprinkles, written and directed by Sundance Award-winning producer Huriyyah Muhammad. The film made its world premiere at the 2024 American Black Film Festival (ABFF), where it won the highly lauded HBO Short Film Competition Award and was nominated for Outstanding Short Form/Film at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards.
In her free time, she hosts the Inside[Out] Podcast, available on all major streaming platforms. Her upcoming producing projects for 2025 include serving as Co-Executive Producer for Announcements, written and directed by D’Lo Louis (Creed III, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), and as a producer for Purses & Floors, written and directed by Okema T. Moore (Down in the Valley, Chocolate with Sprinkles).
